For the 3rd year in a row we decided to head North for camping on the Mogollon Rim.  We bought Cede a new digital camera for her birthday/Christmas when she came out so she was our photographer this year.  Here are some shots she snapped on the way out.  We left early at 5:30AM on Friday, July 27.

Here's some shots of our campsite.  It's the same spot we camped in last few years, but this year we spent 10 days and 9 nights here.  It rained almost every day, close to 4" total for the 10 days we spent there.  When we went to Payson to resupply we bought a second pop-up awning for more shelter.

More hummingbirds this year.  We had 3 feeders and had to refill the two small ones on a daily basis.

There was a lot more wildlife this year.  We saw quite a few elk, but they all ran away before we could take pictures.  There were also Bald Eagles, squirrels, chipmunks, toads, turkeys and coyote's that woke us up every night.

We spent 3 days fishing.  We fished Black Canyon Lake, rented a boat and fished at Woods Canyon lake and fished from the shore at Willow Springs Lake.  We didn't have much luck this year.  Justin and I each caught a bass at Black Canyon, I caught two trout at Woods Canyon and Amber caught a trout at Woods canyon.  A far cry from the 100+ fish we caught last year, but we still had a good time.

We managed to rack up about 900 miles on the big truck this year.  The kids did quite a bit of the driving any time we were on a trail that didn't require a license.  We pulled one truck out of the mud (he got stuck towing his big 5th wheel) and actually ended up using the truck to rescue a horse that had fallen down inside of it's trailer.

We did quite a bit of sightseeing again this year.  Lots of trips out to the various lookouts off the rim, hikes around some of the lakes and lots of driving through varied terrain.

On the day before we left we took a trip down to the Canyon Creek fish hatchery.  We all had a good time looking at all the stock fish and feeding the big fish in the show pond.

On the last day we packed up early, did some shooting, ate lunch, went on a hike and headed into Payson for dinner.  We ended up getting home around 9:30PM on Sunday August 5th.
